The Balmoral: Ship to Sail on Titanic Memorial Cruise

The Balmoral will follow in the path of an all-too-famous ship, embarking on a 100-year anniversary Titanic memorial cruise in 2012. The Titanic began sinking at 11:40pm on April 15, 1912. As part Titanic Memorial Cruise, the Balmoral will take part in a memorial service at the spot in the North tlantic where the Titanic sank.

Despite the fate-tempting elements of such a journey, tickets for the Titanic Memorial Cruise are apparently selling well: According to Borton Oerseas, which is dealing with US-based reservations, lower-grade inside cabins are sold out. I just hope they don't lock Leo DiCaprio down there.

The British firm Miles Morgan Travel has chartered the Balmoral, a ship owned by Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, for the memorial voyage. The Balmoral holds 1,350 passengers and a crew of 510 and has 710 cabins. Prices for the 12-night trip started at US$3,900 for an inside cabin, including taxes.

Hopefully the Balmoral won't follow the Titanic on it's entire path.  This sounds like a great adventure.

Well, you may as well get tickets now, if this is your sort of thing
