Beau Brummell Shoe Polish: Champagne, Cause He's a Boss

What did Beau Brummell use to polish his shoes you ask? Champagne. Why? Plain and simple, cause he's a boss. Brummell is credited as the being the man behind modern men's fashion; fitted, quality clothing with an understated appeal. Furthermore, the introduction and establishment of men's suits with ties as a fashion staple has been attributed to Brummell, who passed away in 1840; he was that ahead of his time.

The question I have though is why are people all of a sudden interested in what Beau Brummell used as shoe polish? I'm not complaining, in all actuality I am happy that, even if only for a day, people actually care about their image. Hopefully this trend will spread and potentially deprive society of websites like peopleofwalmart.com. Eh, I take that back, society needs peopleofwalmart. But at least some people are falling prey to vanity.

So go out, pick up a bottle of Dom Pérignon and polish your John Lobbs or Barker Blacks but maybe opt for some Ballatore Spumante if you're just slipping on your Bostonians or, dare I say, Payless loafers.

Then if challenged as to why your shoes smell like booze, just tell 'em, "Beau Brummell made me do it".
