Bikini Goddess: Ursula Andress Tops All
Ursula Andress, men drool over her, women also love her.
A survey of 1,000 women was conducted to celebrate the recent 60th anniversary of bikini since it made it entered the fashion scene in the U.S., and the result put Ursula Andress, the Bond girl, at No. 1. She took the stop for the ultimate bikini goddess for her look in the first-ever Bond film more than 45 years ago with Sean Connery.
Andress's famous two-piece itself was also voted the most iconic bikini ever, while women also rated Jessica Alba's washboard stomach and Elle Macpherson's legs as the best of their kind.
A British model and an occasional swimwear designer, Killy Brook took the second place and was thought to have the best breasts, followed by former model and actress Brigitte Bardot, who earned the nickname "The Bikini Girl" in the early 60s. Also in the top 10 included Myleene Klass, thanks to her white bikini appearance in I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here and Megan Fox.
It found 97 per cent of women dread the thought of revealing themselves in a bikini with 27 per cent citing cellulite as the reason and 22 per cent simply not being toned. Around one in nine are worried about poor grooming, the research found.
The survey also revealed that British girls would rather be curvy than skinny on the beach.
Holly Chaves, of Gillette Venus Embrace, which ran the poll, said: “It shows curves are not just appreciated by men but that it is women who feel this is the look they should aim for and not just try to be thin.”
