Bloomingdale's to open Retail Store in Middle East

The Dubai Mall, slated to open this month as one of the world's largest shopping centres, will be the home of the first Bloomingdale's retail store to open in the Middle East.

The American department store will be managed and operated by Al Tayer Insignia, a company of Al Tayer Group. The 146,000 sq ft Bloomingdale's store will showcase 'Bloomie's' entire range in addition to a 54,000 sq ft home store.

The Dubai Mall is a mammoth shopping complex with over 1,200 stores, and will house numerous international luxury brands to cater to Dubai's affluent residents and tourists. Entertainment attractions, such as an aquarium, ice rink, kids' centre, cineplex and more.

This will be the first Bloomingdale's to open overseas and is expected to be completed by 2010.

I was in Chicago for the National Reastaurant Assosiation Show. This was the first time I have ever seen a Bloomingdale's so I deciced to snap a picture.

Bloomingdale is a great addition to San Francisco downtown area. Many people believe that Bloomingdale only sells expensive high-end stuff, but they are not. They have many varieties of things. I personally would like to welcome Bloomindale in San Francisco.

This Bloomingdales signage was shot in Chicago, IL. I constantly snapped pictures in and around the Magnificent Mile as I strolled through and, in a split second, captured this shot.

I've seen pictures and footages of this store in several American movies. And then, just behind a corner, suddenly the store was there. For real. The noise, the colors, the flags... And the yellow taxis...all for real.

Bloomingdale Home store in Chicago is in an old temple. Makes for some interesting interior details and definitely for an interesting facade. This is just off the Miracle Mile.

To a Southern girl who's never been to a "Big City", Chicago was overwhelming in every way. I was sitting in traffic praying to God that I wasn't lost when I looked over and saw the Bloomingdale's to my left. I took this picture simply because I had never seen a Bloomingdale's before.

Bloomingdale's NYC store is one of the best. Their windows (specially the reflections from buildings across the street) have always fascinated me and my camera.
