BRITISH MILITARY INVOLVED IN AFGHAN DRUG TRADE, SAYS KARZAI ADVISOR
Yousuf Ali Waezi, advisor of Afghan President Hamid Karzai, has accused British military in Afghanistan of being involved in the drug trade in Afghanistan, according to the Iranian news agency's German website german.irib.ir.

In an interview with Iran's Press TV on Dec. 15, he said: "There is evidence that the British troops in Helmand are not merely not taking action against drug smuggling, but they are even involved in the drug traffic."

He added, that the British military were also "involved in opium cultivation and drug production in Afghanistan." Irib says that "according to some reports, drug production has increased fortyfold, since the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan" in October 2001.
