Calvin Klein Billboard Featuring Threesome Deemed Too Sexy

A new Calvin Klein billboard in SoHo featuring a suggested threesome, and possibly a foursome, has been deemed too sexy by many in New York City. The Calvin Klein billboard features a young topless girl laying atop a male model while kissing another male sitting beside her; all the while a third bare-chested male is sprawled across the bottom of the billboard.
Asked about the message in the ad, a Calvin Klein spokesman said the "intention was to create a very sexy campaign that speaks to our targeted demographic."
New Yorkers think they overshot.
"It's pretty provocative," said Murray Hill resident Alicia Shay, 24, who happens to sell jeans for a living.
"Just the positioning of them all - she's kissing him, the other guy has his hands down her pants, they're all misty even. It's really inappropriate."
The massive Calvin Klein billboard is plastered on the face of a building at Houston St. and Lafayette St. in SoHo.
Calvin Klein has a long history of provocative ad campaigns, most notably the 1981 campaign featuring a 15 year-old Brooke Shields saying, "nothing comes between me and my Calvins."

I think it's hot. Probably a little much for a billboard. I don't think it would be too much at all for any adult magazine (I don't mean Playboy or Penthouse, just not "Jack and Jill"). It's racy, but not at all obscene. It isn't 1950 anymore.

Regardless of 1950, I had to learn this through growing up......now my daughter see's this billboard at 8 and says what are they doing daddy........and if that's ok for society to exploit....then I guess it's ok for me to tell her......whats goes on behind closed doors with responsible adults....should not come out of the closet in mainstream society........promoting calvin klein or promoting group orgy's

This is one step too far in advertising, The Fashion police need to start paying more attention to whats out there for kids eyes to feast apon while waiting for a bus home from school. Confused or what !

I like sexy (tasteful) ads as much as the next guy but this one goes beyond the pale of responsible advertising. The message here is pretty clear: it's hip to engage in reckless, meaningless sex. I have two young sons and I'd like to teach them to respect women and themselves.
