Captain Lou Albano and Cyndi Lauper: Rock and Wrestling
Captain Lou Albano's fame extended beyond the world of professional wrestling. Captain Lou Albano appeared in several Cyndi Lauper videos, making his music video debut as Cyndi Lauper's father in the classic Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. Lou Albano also appeared in the video for Goonies 'R' Good Enough, along with many other WWF wrestlers who were popular at the time, including Rowdy Roddy Piper, André the Giant, Classy Fred Blassie, The Fabulous Moolah and Nikolai Volkoff.
Cyndi Lauper wrote the intro to Captain Lou Albano's autobiography, Often Imitated, Never Duplicated. The Cyndi Lauper/wrestling connection goes back to the earliest days of the WWF (before it became known as WWE): Cyndi Lauper played the part of Wendy Richter's manager. In a publicity-stunt masterstroke, Cyndi Lauper and Lou Albano carried their argument over who kick-started Cyndi Lauper's career onto MTV, which was also just getting started in the early 1980's. Other celebrities who appeared at WWF events include Stevie Wonder, Mr. T, Liberace, and Dee Snyder from Twisted Sister.
Cyndi Lauper is responsible for the Rock and Wrestling phenomenon.

Thanks for sharing Jordan. He will be missed. I remember him from the time the WWF was at its golden age in the 1980's.
