Chanel Customizes the Segway for the Rich

In one of the most over-the-top design initiatives we have seen since the onset of the recession, Karl Lagerfeld has concocted a Chanel-branded Segway for his uber-rich clientele. 

The Personal Transporter is outfitted with a classic Chanel handbag across the handlebars - which themselves are decorated with quilted handgrips - custom mudflaps, and Chanel branding on the wheels, steering head and handlebars.

The Segway runs at a standard 12 miles an hour, and is expected to cost at least $10,000 though an official price has not yet been released.  The transporters are made to order.
