Christian Lacroix - Fall Winter 2009

The fashion house of Christian Lacroix is no longer facing bankruptcy, thanks to Chevalier Blanc. a wine producer from Bordeaux.

Christian Lacroix filed for bankruptcy protection in May, and although there have been some interested parties, including Bernard Krief Consulting, no one was able to make a bid large enough.

There were many tears in the house during the recent couture shows when it was thought that the much loved designer had just presented his swan song and would not survive an impending financial meltdown.

Hard to imagine him going bankrupt.  He has had such a lavish lifestyle -- to go with the couture -- that I can't imagine him in anything less than a chateau.

I know, I think it's because he hasn't done any 'cheaper' lines or been very accessible to 'regular' people like some of the other designers; of course that's just me speculating.
