Is Costco Open on Memorial Day 2010? Can You Get Some Shopping Done May 31?

Unfortunately for those wanting to get some shopping done at Costco this 2010 Memorial Day, all Costco locations are in fact closed and will not reopen until Tuesday June 1.

Costco does not close that many days each year, but Memorial Day they are closed, along with Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. They will return to regular store hours however the next day meaning:

• Monday to Friday 10am to 8:30pm
• Saturday 9:30am to 6pm
• Sunday 10am to 6pm

You can use their store locator to find a location near you.

However, Costco is one of the only big chain stores that are closed on Memorial Day 2010, meaning that there are plenty of other stores for people to get their shopping done on their day off.

Stores that are open include:

• Walmart
• Target
• Best Buy
• Kmart

Other smaller stores will have some Memorial Day sales as well.

Reports indicate that while consumer spending is up this month over last year, people are still being cautious with their money and stores are having to entice buyers with bigger sales and more attractive discounts.

Costco clearly does not need the money as they can afford to close this Memorial Day.
