Couple Makes Out During Vancouver Riot: Who Are They?
The photo below was taken by Rich Lam during the 2011 Stanley Cup riot in Vancouver. While some were trashing storefronts, burning cars, and getting into fights, this couple was looking for a different sort of action.
The man and woman lying on the ground and making out are yet to be identified, but it probably won't be long before the world knows their names. No shame in their game: at least they'll be internet-famous for something awesome. Besides, making out in the street is perfectly legal in Canada.
You know what they went and did next, right?

Is the Riot Kiss Photo Staged?
As far as I'm concerned, this is the photo from the Vancouver 2011 riot. There's talk, though, that the photo was staged: Steve Poller tweeted a link to a photo taken from a nearby rooftop, which seems to show the couple being posed by a photo team. However, Poller's critique mentions a cop that doesn't even appear in the rooftop photo. Also, when was the rooftop photo taken?
SportNet Chicago's Sarah Lauch, said that Rich Lam confirmed via email that he shot what he saw.
In a separate interview, Lam said that the shot is legit, though he thought he was photographing someone who was injured.
Come to think of it, Rich Lam took the pic of the Canucks fan who flashed the penalty box, too. He has some sort of ESP for that type of shot.
