A 507-carat diamond was found at South Africa's Cullinan mine on Thursday. The diamond is among the top 20 gems of all time. The company's chief executive Johan Dippenaar said it was of "exceptional color and clarity."

The diamond was found northeast of Pretoria, South Africa. No value has been given to the diamond yet.

The world's largest diamond, the Cullinan, was also found at the same mine. It weighs 3,106 carats in rough, which was later set in Britain's Imperial Scepter.

Wow quite an impressive sized diamond to find, I know it would fetch quite a sum of money on the open market after it was cut and polished. I just hope it makes it to the open market and not just into another Royals collection as diamonds from this mine usually have exceptional clarity.
