Denny's Free Breakfast, Grab a Gratis Grand Slam Until 2pm

There may not be such a thing as a free lunch but Denny's is offering people a free breakfast until 2pm local time today. Show up at your local Denny's before 2pm on February 3, 2009 and you can get a free Grand Slam breakfast consisting of two eggs, two slices of bacon, two sausages, and two pancakes.

Denny's restaurants across the United States are lined up around the block. The free Grand Slam breakfast offer is good while supplies last and does not include tip. The free breakfast offer is good at locations throughout the US, Canada and Puerto Rico.

Three US locations will not be offering the free Grand Slam breakfast. These locations are; 350 Baker Blvd., Baker, CA, 740 S. Main St., Las Cruces, NM. and 1128 W Thirteenth St., Merced, CA.

The Dallas Morning News says 30 people were lined up at 6 a.m. at one Denny's location in Big D to take advantage of the free breakfast of two eggs, two slices of bacon, two sausage links and two pancakes. The nationwide offer is good until 2 p.m. The newspaper quotes one customer, Francisco Flores, 53,, as saying he heard about it on the morning news and rushed over immediately. "I didn't even shower," says Flores.

The News quotes Nelson Marchioli, president and CEO of Denny’s, as saying he expects at least 2 million more customers today. “In this economy, people will respond to free,” he says.

I wish I had read this sooner! I like Denny's. Good food and friendly service, if sometimes slow. My favorite Denny's moment was when my very pregnant sister-in-law and I, also very pregnant, went to Denny's after she took her ultrasound and discovered why Ella was so BIG. She was having twins. Anyway, the people working in Denny's had to pull our table out because we needed more room. They seemed nervous because we looked about ready to pop! We went to Denny's because one person can eat breakfast and another can eat dinner simultaneously. Pregnant women like to share off each other's plates - everything tastes so Good!
