Donna Karan Has Become the First Fashion Designer Label to Have a Permanent Presence at Yankee Stadium

No, DKNY did not design the uniforms but Donna Karan has become the first fashion label to have a permanent advertising presence at Yankee Stadium. DKNY has signed a long-term sponsorship deal with the New York Yankees and according to Mark Weber, the chairman and CEO of DKNY, they could not be happier.

Donna Karan created DKNY to capture the spirit of New York and the people who live here, including the most successful baseball team in history: the Yankees.

According to Styleite, DKNY is the first every fashion sponsor to be permanently displayed at Yankee Stadium and they are also the prime sponsor of the Dugout Lounge and their logo will be seen by over a million people a season as the Yankees are a very popular baseball team.

Donna Karan and DKNY are very popular New York icons and have been a staple on the fashion scene for many years. Donna Karen used to work for Anne Klein and was head of the design team there until 1989 when she left to launch her own line called Seven Easy Pieces. She has since grown in popularity from there and now her clothes appear on the backs of celebrities and fashionistas alike.

She  is also known for her DKNY Jeans clothing line, which launched in 1992 and she now has the DKNY lifestyle diffusion line and DKNY Active lines.

She is no longer the CEO of her company, but she is still chairwoman and a designer.

She appeared on The View on Friday April 16.
