Taco Bell is testing a new product called Doritos  Locos Tacos, which, as the name suggests, are taco shells made out of Doritos chips. This takes Taco Bell even further away from actual Mexican food.

I had hoped that this was a joke or a prank, but Doritos Tacos Locos are all too real. The photos in that last link are from Toledo, Ohio, which is suffering a fake-ass-taco onslaught.

Strangely, instead of rebelling in the face of such a crime against tacos, commenters seem to be demanding a Cool Ranch version. 

Hard-shell tacos are bad enough, but Doritos? This is madness. And, yes, I know it's supposed to be "Doritos Tacos Locos". It's not my fault that Taco Bell is getting the Spanish wrong, nor is it any surprise whatsoever.

Clearly, Taco Bell's product team is high. I'm not saying they're stupid, only that they're stoned. Very, very stoned. One presumes their next product will be a can of Coke with a red-licorice straw.

Thanks, Taco Bell, for punching cuisine in the face. Then again, if you're going to Taco Bell, you shouldn't be expecting to encounter Mexican food in the first place.

Now I'm angry. Time to make some guacamole from scratch, as nature intended.
