TruemorsBeijing: The Night Market. The food looks delicious: meats of all kinds, including snake, beef, pork, and more. Lots of sugar-glazed fruits such as this skewer she's holding. You can also munch on scorpions, large ugly brown insects, and other delicacies. Because we did not know if the food had been refrigerated, or if the water the fruits were washed in was safe, we did not eat at this market---but we were sure tempted!

Food vendor at Beijing's famous Night Market. Very colorful place with people selling ready-to-eat foods of all kinds...including some things you don't see in most Western countries. These include scorpions, large insects, and snakes. The vendors seem accustomed to people taking photos of them so most don't mind.
