The Dusit Thani Bangkok’s D’Sens French Restaurant has just added another feather in its award-winning cap for the 4th consecutive year: it was again honored by the recent “Thailand Best Restaurants Awards 2009,” program produced by Thailand Tatler magazine, as the best French restaurant in Bangkok.

The award, presented to restaurants voted on by readers of the magazine, recognizes the restaurant’s exceptional cuisine and service. The award was received by a Dusit Thani team, headed by Thomas Deledalle, D’Sens manager, at a ceremony held at the Events Hall of Siam Paragon shopping center in downtown Bangkok recently.

Speaking of the achievement, Thomas said: “This is a great honor, indeed — to get the Thailand Best Restaurants award in our category this year. This award recognizes what our entire team, and in particular chef Julien Lavigne and his culinary crew, has been working proudly to achieve all along, to offer guests a truly memorable dining experience.”

D’Sens, located on the 22nd floor of hotel, features innovative French a la carte and set menus, with great value for money business lunches and dinners in a trendy, casual, yet elegant atmosphere with an extraordinary bird’s-eye view of Bangkok.

Modeled after the famous Le Jardin des Sens in Montpellier in France from the concept of 2-Star Michelin chefs Jacques and Laurent Pourcel, D’Sens was created with the same passion for culinary excellence that the legendary twin brothers from Languedoc are known for. The Pourcel’s Le Jardin des Sens has earned some of the culinary world’s ultimate accolades.

D’Sens reflects the twin’s extraordinary range of culinary talent, too. The menu is greatly influenced by their Mediterranean home province in the South of France, and combines ingredients from land and sea. Dishes are high in taste, aromatic, spicy, and full of personality. While the restaurant uses mostly imported products, some specially selected local ingredients are carefully blended into many of their traditional recipes.  The result is a truly memorable dining experience of exciting tastes and dramatic flavors.

Complementing the cuisine and sophistication of D’Sens, the restaurant décor was designed by Imaad Rahmouni, the same brilliant architect who worked on the Pourcels’ other projects in Montpellier, Avignon, and Paris. Rahmouni’s designs are inspirational. The superbly illuminated bar and classic furniture and tableware build an ambience that is cool, chic, and cutting edge.
