Designer Peter Dundas will succeed Matthew Williamson as the artistic director for Italian fashion house Emilio Pucci as of October 2008.

Norwegian-born Dundas, who succeeds Englishman Matthew Williamson, is an experienced and media friendly designer who has worked for half a dozen European houses throughout his busy career.

Williamson, known for his colorful posh style, held the position for three years; he was initially hailed as the ideal for fit for Pucci. However, since this spring reports had circulated that Pucci was actively looking for a replacement.

The past 8 years have seen numerous design upheavals at Pucci, and Dundas will be the fifth person in this time span to take up the position.
