Last minute gifts, the time crunch of last minute shopping, the clock is ticking, shopping on Christmas Eve, stores are closed, time to shop online for those last minute gifts - the answer is the e-gift card or e-certificate.
The e-mail gift card, the e-gift card, virtual gift card or the e-certificate as they are called enable you to purchase a gift online with your credit card and then send it via  e-mail and also print the e-card you purchased.

So here is a list of online ideas for those e-gift cards. Oh, if you are reading this and the stores are still open maybe you should get off your duff and go buy something, but read this post first.
Tickets for shows and membership -  Basketball, Hockey, Football, Concerts, Membership at the Art Gallery, the Symphony, Theatre Festivals there are lots of choices when it comes to e-gifts and e-cards for tickets and membership. Most organizations have the ability to buy and e-gift card these sorts of tickets online now. Browse your city's arts organizations and sports teams to find out more.
Charitable Giving - Give an e-gift card that matters, at the last minute. Your husband, wife, brother, sister, friend have a favorite cause? Well, give a gift to that cause on their behalf. Many non-profit organizations have the special holiday giving campaigns and alternative giving catalogues. 
Music and Books - Both Amazon and itunes allow you to purchase and e-gift cards and e-certificates. You also have the option of printing them out yourself. Chapters and Barnes & Noble also have e-gift certificates.
Clothes - there is literally and endless number of e-gift cards that you. Most of the big retailers should have them. Neiman Marcus in the USA sell e-gift cards. Specialty shops like Victoria's Secret sell e-certificates as well.
Electronics - Circuit City in the sells e-gift cards as do many specialty electronic outlets.

This is just a hint of the range of e-gift cards you can buy. Most e-gift cards are printable so hopefully you have a high quality stock paper to use. Also, remember, the person you are giving the e-gift to will know it was purchased at the last minute and you better have a good story or at the very least put some effort into the packaging of the e-gift. Print the paper and put into a series of boxes - something clever or elaborate, that will show that put some effort into the presentation of a last minute e-gift.
