the famous hat

i took a series of photos of the Obama inauguration while watching it live on facebook yesterday, including this one of Aretha Franklin singing. i was really struck by her hat. I don't believe i saw any of the other women on the platform wearing one. Perhaps they were worried about messing up their hair and sporting the dreaded "hat hair" at the luncheon.

Aretha's hat was impressive, eye-catching (and definitely warm) and added another special touch to an eventful day in history. Oh, and she can sure sing too!
