Not only will Mercedes-Benz NY Fashion Week be highlighted in all the major magazines and media outlets throughout the coming months, but fictional TV shows are edging in on the limelight and inserting some real-life coverage into their plot lines.

Catwalks (and catfights?) will feature on an early episode of " Gossip Girl," which tapes a faux fashion show during the week for the "line" by character Eleanor Waldorf -- that's Blair's mom. Keep an eye out around the tents for actress Taylor Momsen.

"The Real Housewives of New York City," with new addition Kelly Killoren Bensimon, will be taping, as will talkative Tyra Banks. Also in front of the lens: aspiring fashionistas (and fashionistos) from corporate daddy IMG, organizers of the semi-annual shows, who will be filmed for a pilot about Fashion Week interns.

Have any TV shows done this in the past?  Or did Sex and the City launch yet another trend?  They partnered with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week to have the entire Bryant Park set-up reconstructed for filming so NYFW would appear as "real" as possible within the fictional parameters of the movie.  This seems like yet another fuzzy line between fiction and the real world; we already have reality television, but now we have fictional reality too?

This photograph was taken in the south of Italy in one of the most affluent shopping districts. I happened upon these three young women chatting intensely (as only Italians can) and took the photograph a la Bresson.

I love the show, liked the posters about the new season starting and took this photo when I was walking around New York City last week...
