NP Rank:
First-Ever Revolving Hotel To Be Built In Croatia
A first-ever revolving hotel is to be built in Solta, Croatia. This luxurious hotel will revolve during the day, offering guests a changing view at different times during their stay. British architects from Studio RHE are behind the design. The project will come at a cost of millions of pounds and 2.5 years of construction.
The island of Solta in Croatia was strategically selected for construction as it offers one of the most beautiful views in the world. The design will let all guests, independent of what part of the hotel they are staying in, to enjoy the gorgeous views. The rotation speed will be 1.3 revolutions per day, but designers say guests won't notice the movement of the turntable that the hotel is based on.
Architect Richard Hywel Evans, who specialises in holiday resort design, said the movement was so slow that guests would not be able to feel it.
Mr Evans, 48, said: "We believe this is a stunning example of how creative, exciting and bold design can and should be.
"In the case of Solta Island the need was simple – every guest should be able to enjoy the breathtaking view and our rotating design provides just that.
"You can go to bed with one view and wake up with another."
It will be interesting to see what rate these rooms will go for.

That's a technicality! There are several revolving hotel towers already to share the view, just not the whole building including the reception. I am away from home today unfortunately but clipped an article on this from a magazine, drat I think one was in Italy or Greece maybe? Whom ever is the PR hack on this hotel wins a prize though, that is a spin (pun intended)

This project sounds fascinating. I look forward to see how the final result works.
