Florida Unemployment Doesn't Deter Would-Be Residents

Despite Florida's high unemployment rate and housing crisis, Florida is second in a Harris Poll of states where people most want to live. (California is #1). However, no Florida cities ranked on the list, so it looks like people are taken with the idea of living in Florida, but not in any of its actual cities. New York City was the #1 choice in this category, though, conversely, New York State did not rank in the top ten states.
“The most popular states and cities where large numbers of people would like to live tend to attract tourists and business,” according to a Harris media release. “They are places where people like to take vacations and where companies like to have their offices and factories.”

I wouldn't mind living in Florida, except in the summer it may get a bit too hot. New York, on the other hand, is great if you like excitement and unlimited people and places to experience.

My daughter was living in Florida and I visited her many time but never thought I would like to live there. As it turned out I opend a manufacturing site there and spent most of 3 years there and absolutely loved it. Although there are many things that need improvement, the lifestyle and endless things to do, art scene, restaurants, festivals not to mention all the sun and fun activities were wonderful. I hope to live there again at some point in time. You learn to live with the summer heat and humidity by just doing outside activities mornings and evenings times of the day.
