Several fast-food chains are giving out free food on Halloween. Chipotle is giving away free Boo-rito Burritos (hey, I didn't make it up). The campaign is called "Food Fright", which may have been ill-advised. Regardless, you only get a free Boo-rito Burrito if you show up dressed as a burrito, taco, or tostada salad. Again, I'm not making that up. Also, Taco Bell is giving away free Black Jack Tacos from 6pm to midnight on Halloween. The Black Jack Taco is like a regular taco, only with a black shell. Why does it have a black shell? I have no idea.

Also, Sears is offering $5 off toy purchases of $20 or more on Halloween. Since when was Halloween a toy holiday?

I am affiliated with none of the above, and am in fact a Halloween purist. The holiday should get back to its roots: making costumes out of stuff in the back of your closet, trick-or-treating, carving pumpkins, and toasting pumpkin seeds, period. Period.

More Halloween treats here.
