In response to the recent wide-spread introduction of more demure dress codes in schools across France, French schoolgirls have begun to wear miniskirts as a sign of protest. The dress code outlaws low-slung trousers, short garments, piercings, holes in trousers, and garments above the knee.

At Lycee Geoffroy-Saint-Hilaire in Essonne, south of Paris, 300 of the 2,100 students came to school wearing short shorts or mini-skirts. And at Lycee Condorcet d'Arcachon in Gironde, 200 students protested in the streets. One student said, "We're at school, we don't want to feel like we are in a prison."

Protestors have been punished by being forced to wear overalls while their male counterparts were forced to wear suspenders.

What do you think? Is the dress-code at hand too demure or should the kids merely accept the mandate and conform?
