Happy Holidays to NowPublic Readers

It was a great discovery to come upon NowPublic, the crowd-powered place for people wanting to elaborate on the news and to share ideas. NP changes constantly and it is true many excellent contributors have disappeared because initially, there was some monetary incentive for contributing.

The Examiner took over and that wasn’t a bad thing. We have some fine administrators.

Of late, I have noticed that some active contributors are producing content with thought-filled substance. The interactions are interesting.

While I am personally not interested in Cricket Scores, I am developing interest in the sport, as I have in parkour of late.

I hope that the core writers will engage new contributors and merchandise our stories on Facebook and elsewhere as the more writers we have, the better it gets.

I have my daughter on board during the holiday and we are going to reach critical mass with family this week. I will keep you posted as the American holiday scene develops in earnest. Today, we are going to the Native American Museum and I will report about that later.

By January I usually weight an extra 10 lbs. I blame the stuffing too. LOL.

This week with my daughter on board, I lost 5 lbs. First, only one slice of whole wheat toast a day -- maximum. Only oatmeal permitted for breakfast with lots of fruit.

Lunch includes, vegetables, fruits, and eggs.

There is a protein smoothie in the afternoon.

Dinner includes lots of organic stuff -- fish and other proteins -- no breads or carbs.

Of course I fat march 3.5 miles a day too.

With that, all of my normal slowness and other characteristic ailments have disappeared. I sleep better too.

My family too numerous in supply of women who cook well for me to attempt any holiday restrictions. That, and you can't show up and say no thank you. By the time we have gone the rounds of both my wife and my families we've worked our way through more than half a dozen turkey dinners in as many days and they don't stop until the end of the first week of January. It's a burden I must carry until April before I'm back down to normal weight. LOL.
