Ho Chi Minh tourism set for tourism festival

Ho Chi Minh tourism authority has been preparing for the city’s TourismFestival 2008, to run from April 18-20, aiming to promote the city’simage as a destination.
The festival will be held at Dam Sen Park in district 11. Themed Southern Land Meeting, the event will focus on upcoming summer tourswith travel agencies showcasing their tour packages and deals.
TheSouthern Cuisine Fair will introduce visitors to refined and tastydishes prepared by national high-end hotels and restaurants.
The festival will also incorporate exciting promotional programs and lucky draws.
TheSaigontourist Travel Service Company will provide a 5-7 percentdiscount on domestic tours and the chance to win a free trip to the US
Ben Thanh Tourist will offer a discount of 3-5 percent on domestic tours and $5-50 off international tours.
Sinceits inception in 2004, the festival has served as a time to celebratethe anniversary of Vietnam’s southern liberation and the country’snational unification which occurred on April 30, 1975.
