'Ho White' Ad Campaign Draws Disney Ire

An ad agency reinvented Snow White as "Ho White" in order to sell Jamieson's Raspberry Ale. I'm not immediately sure how Ho White, Smarmy, Filthy and Randy are meant to entice customers towards flavored beer, but the point is that Disney is predictably upset. And no company I can think of gets more riled up about copyright infringement than Disney. We can safely presume this to be an issue of copyright infringement, since there's pretty much no way Disney would ever willingly allow such a reinvention of Snow White (even though Disney's Snow White is, in itself, a reinvention of the original tale).

Meanwhile, the campaign's website, anythingbutsweet.com, is no longer active.

The cheeky ad's creators said it was designed to convince Australian drinkers the fruit-flavoured beer was "anything but sweet".

But the saucy strategy, rolled out online, in liquor stores and on bar coasters, has come to the attention of the entertainment giant which licenses the animated heroine.
