Hong Kong's ugliest building

The building in the attached photograph has many things wrong with it, the most obvious of which is that it's a mishmash of different shapes and textures. There's not a Golden Ratio in sight. Looking at it for only a short period of time can bring about the same feeling of nausea one gets when looking hard at an optical illusion. The wording on the building is way too wordy, matching the cluttered state of the architecture. It reads "Chinese University of Hong Kong Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Community College Ma Kam Chan Memorial Building" (17 words long!). I can't find the name of the architect, but I wonder if he/she was responsible for the monstrosity in the next photograph? Cock-eyed architecture with some lime green vomit to complete an ugly scene. This begs the question: why are Hong Kong's architects lacking any sort of style and taste? Are there worse examples of ugly buildings out there? Would you like to comment?

These are two separate buildings. The Florient Rise is truly hideous I admit, they even built it around an existing structure from the fifties that acts like the rotten core of a tree. If you want to find the ugly in Hong Kong you don't need to look far. My least favorite building is the HSBC tower in Central, truly a giant waste of space.

Across from The Florient Rise they are constructing "The Hermitage," and if it is anything like the name it will be even more hideous than The Florient Rise. They really need to have someone who can speak English name these buildings...
