The central province of Thua Thien-Hue has welcomed 20,000 arrivals of foreign tourists through Chan May Port since the beginning of this year, a four-fold increase over last year.

Most seagoing ships docking at Chan May Port are luxury liners. The largest ship is the Queen Elizabeth II, 297m long, which brought nearly 2,000 foreign tourists from many countries in the world to the province.

The Queen Elizabeth II is a floating five-star hotel, offering excellent facilities such as restaurant, bar, tea-drinking room, theatre, cinema, swimming pool, golf course and shopping areas.

In addition, the ship Rhapsody of the Seas of the US Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines carried 2,000 foreign tourists to visit Thua Thien-Hue through Chan May Port.

Foreign visitors enjoyed sightseeing in Hue, Da Nang and Hoi An.

According to Nguyen Huu Tho, director of Chan May Port Company Limited, the number of sea travelers to Hue is increasing, mostly from high-end tour groups.

Chan May Port is investing in infrastructure and improving the quality of services to meet the needs of the increasing number of tourists.
