August 5, 2011 is International Beer Day.They have an official website and everything. The purpose of International Beer Day is to celebrate and appreciate beer and the people who bring it to you. Chances are, though, that you already celebrated that a few times this week, amirite?

Vancouver only has one (1) participating bar. True, it's the legendary Railway Club, but still One bar? That said, Vancouver just doesn't have very many cool bars to begin with. Sorry. Maybe for next year we can recommend some other venues, too.

At least here in the Lower Mainland, every bar with a patio (i.e. all 3 of them) will be full, since it's gorgeous and sunny outside.

At any rate, you can celebrate International Beer day with your friends at any place where beer is served. Do so responsibly. Also, say no to macrobrews, even if just for today.
