Stacked: Order via iPad
A restaurant called Stacked opened in Torrance, Calfornia. Its hook is that patrons order their meals via iPad: the tablets are mounted on each table. Servers have to make fewer trips to each table, but must presumably spend extra time cleaning the ketchup from the iPads.
So your food will be ready quickly... but not in a Flash. Thankyouverymuch.
The remote-order concept is not new, by any means: I recall ordering by (rotary) phone at Whataburger around 30 years ago. There are advantages to organizing this task via app: primarily, your order is absolute: you literally draw the staff a picture of your burger using presaved ingredient images.
Also, you cannot crank-call the kitchen with an app, as I was wont to do with the Whataburger phones.
Also, any brawls must be carried out in real life. There is not yet an app for that.
