I had a difficult childhood. My father was violent; my mother submitted tohim. She used to say, “The man is the head of the family, the woman is theneck - she can turn things around.”

With the Stones, I was travelling the world and partying, but always having tomake sure Mick wasn’t doing something he shouldn’t. It was exhausting.Nowadays, I watch television, read books and go to bed early.

I don’t regret donating my dresses. I was happy to let go of the past. I amnot interested in being stick thin any more. Staying thin when you’re oldermakes your face look scrawny.

I am sick of all this plastic surgery. Women my age are scaring youngchildren. Maybe they’re worried they can’t keep their husbands, but if menare going to go, they’re going to go.

I have decided I won’t marry again - you think you can change someone, but youcan only change yourself. The same tip for surviving a marriage applies tosurviving a divorce: good manners.
