In a year of many rumoured celebrity retirements, Kanye West is the latest celeb to declare that he's quitting his wildly successful rap career, in favour of becoming a fashion intern with designer Louis Vuitton.

Once the 808s & Heartbreak have lessened to a dull roar, West is considering a move to London, England in order to "work his way up" from intern to exec of Louis Vuitton's UK HQ in Bond Street.

Before he makes the move, he surely should consider a few celebrity precedents. Perhaps hockey player Sean Avery's stint interning at Vogue Magazine or Outkast's André 3000 launching his own clothing line Benjamin Bixby.

Not that Kanye is entirely unfamiliar with fashion. He often blogs about it and he is set to debut his own Pastelle (Past Tell?) clothing line will in 2009.

But if all Weezy is looking for is a fashion internship...why not save everyone some time and simply become a celebrity contestant on Stylista?

Grammy Award-winning rapper, record producer and shameless self-promoter Kanye West plans to ditch his music career in favor of fashion.

West, 31, tells the London Daily Mirror he'll move to the British capital next year to begin at the bottom rung with an internship at Louis Vuitton's UK HQ in Bond Street - or so he hopes.

"I'm going to go and take an internship and just do something that's like completely normal," he tells the paper, "and just rap at the weekends or something."

I feel this is totally unfair because their are many fashion students like myself who breath fashion every day, but we get bumped down when artists like "KANYE" want to pursue a career in fashion. Its just outlandishly ridiculous! I thought his destiny was RAP/PRODUCING??? Why Fashion all of a sudden? Just because his last album was not as successful as his other albums, he wants to have a fit and leave his rap fans who love his work to become a creative designer? Not to mention, it won't be his own line, but it will be apart of LVMH?? Its unfair unfair unfair!!!!

I bet he will land that executive position too; well much success to your DREAM JOB Kanye! :-/
