Katy Perry Covers InStyle, Shows Off "A Different Shade of Katy"
Nabbing cover duties for their latest issue, Katy Perry is featured on the front page of the October 2011 installment of InStyle magazine.
The "Friday Night" songstress brightened things up with a bold pink coif while featured in a multi-page spread titled "A Different Shade of Katy".
In her interview, the 26-year-old chats about topics such as her expanding horizons and steadfast position of standing up for what she believes in. Ms. Perry also ponders what makes up her colorful personality. "I am full of unicorns and Care Bears 99 percent of the time, but don't open Pandora's Box of that other 1 percent -- because it's there!"
Highlights from Katy's interview are as follows:
On having children:
"Not yet. I think if you're married, it's often in your future." As for her approach to raising kids: "I think in the future - the very far future - when I have children, I'll have a more open approach, setting boundaries and showing them what their decisions and choices will breed."
On her passion for inspiring others:
"I want to inspire people to let their true light shine to live a full life and achieve their dreams."
On her expanding horizons since reaching stardom:
"I feel like I've gone from living in a 2-D world to a 3-D world. It's a product of traveling, having an open mind, and being open in general."
On her 1940s and '50s influence:
"I take a lot of influence from pin-up girls of the '40s and '50s - when everything was done with a wink and a grin."
On standing up for what she believes in:
"I'm not going to sit and be steamrolled. I'm going to stand up against things that are unjust."
On her passion to push the limits:
"I love challenges. In fact, I get off on them."
InStyle is not the only publication to feature Katy Perry on their cover this month. Cosmo Australia also showcases the beautiful pop star on the front of their October issue, the "Firework" singer looking ravishing in a red top and black pencil skirt.
Aside from her Cosmo gig, Katy is readying for her sixth single's release from her album Teenage Dream - which is a midtempo track called "The One That Got Away."
The sentimental song is all about Perry's first love as the chorus reads, "In another life, I would be your girl/ We keep all our promises, be us against the world/ And in another life, I would make you stay/ So I don't have to say you were the one that got away."
"The One That Got Away" will hit the radio next month.
