Last minute Halloween costume ideas

Halloween arrives all too soon with its promise of an eventful weekend, candy and, of course, last minute costumes. Dressing up has been a vital part of the Halloween tradition, allowing people to be someone else for a night. Now, since more items have been discovered to be poison, it might be a good idea to DIY this year.

Well, it's time to reveal some last minute costume ideas for this year!

First up is the Mad Scientist. Neil Patrick Harris' interpretation swept the Internet earlier this year in Joss Whedon's web series, Dr. Horrible. Some gloves, boots, a lab coat, and  a pair of welding goggles could easily associate you with the wannabe monster. Who knows, you could always go as 'The Horrible Dr. Horrible' if your ensemble isn't up to par.

The easiest one on this list, though, could be the Angel with her tin foil halo and white sheet robe. It’s versatility rivals ‘The Nurse’ and it can be transformed from casual to sexy to bland -- and anything in between.

Next are 'Flight of the Conchords.' The New Zealand duo sung their way onto HBO and into viewers hearts with classics like 'Business Time' and 'Albi the Racist Dragon.' Jeans, 5 o'clock shadow, vintage shirt and a guitar are all you need to impersonate these guys.

The Nurse costume has honoured health care professionals for a long time as its versatility has allowed it to adapt to cultural allowances over the years. One of the simplest costumes, it can be as complicated or…uncomplicated as you want.

The Secret Agent always has a special place in everyone's heart, and if you're willing to sacrifice a tux in the line of partying (you know Bond would) then this one is probably the most expensive, simple costume you could pull off.

Now, though we're still in mourning after finding out that David Tennant quit Dr. Who, Halloween waits for no one, and since he's still got a year left you can still use a second hand pinstriped suit, some thick rimmed glasses, and a little extra hair gel to embody the Time Lord. Oh, and don't forget the side burns -- that's essential.

The School Girl only requires the barest semblance to a true school uniform and pretty much any short plaid skirt paired with a white dress shirt and tie can pull it off easily. Interesting fact, most people who wear this costume probably didn’t actually go to a school with a dress code...

Now, the scariest popular costume would require you to dip into your business wardrobe and don some trendy glasses to pull off the Sarah Palin. The VP Candidate has proven to be Internet fodder and her popularity has unfortunately occurred during Halloween. Men have had the option of masking themselves as George Bush for years, and now women scare the crap out of their partners.
