McDonalds Free Coffee Monday, Until August 3 2009

McDonalds is holding Free Coffee Mondays to market its coffee and show consumers that McDonalds coffee is much better than it once was.

McDonalds Free Coffee Monday will be held from now until August 3 at participating McDonalds locations from 7am to 7pm. Customers will receive a free 7 oz iced Mocha or an 8 oz hot McCafe Mocha.

McDonalds expects to give away approximately 10 million McDonalds mochas during the promotion, which makes McDonalds free coffee mondays one of its largest sampling initiatives ever.

Only 1 free McDonalds coffee is allowed per customer per McDonald's per day.

Obviously, McDonald's is not a high-end coffee provider, but it's come a long way since its scalding days of 180-degree cups of joe. Its new premium coffee even won a Consumer Reports taste test in 2007, beating out other fast-coffee vendors Dunkin' Donuts, Burger King and Starbucks.

In my experience McDonald's coffee is not very good (more like dark acid than coffee), but this mocha looks quite nice in pictures. Anyone who has tasted it out there? What did you think?

McDonald's McCafe mochas are just okay. If you like actual coffee, they are horrible and should be avoided at all costs. But if you like super-sugary, brown, vaguely coffee-esque liquid, they are the bomb.

This picture was taken at the McDonald's on Broadway Ave. in San Antonio, Texas. This location is owned by Paul Hoskins.

I was just at work on my fifteen having a smoke break when this truck pulled up. It's McDonalds promotional slogan, "You Mocha me happy." I just thought it was hilarious so I took a picture! :)

That's a lot of free coffee their giving away.  I guess we can all give it a sample now and decide for ourselves if the taste is worthy of coming back as paying customers.

I think it's a smart way to get their name out there. Especially when coffee places like Starbucks and Second Cup are getting a little pricey. During a recession free coffee is never a bad idea.

I totally agree.  I love MickyD's Iced Coffees.  They are so much better than Starbucks and about $2 cheaper.

Starbucks iced coffee is only $2, so McD's is only $.20?  Wow.

I am also addicted to their iced coffee too, I also think the iced mocha's are really good for the price

The McDonalds ice coffee is the best, I agree! I look forward to it every morning. It is sooo

much better than "five bucks".  So much better than that weak crap at Dunkin Donuts.

Wow, McDonalds finally succumbs and gives away something for free.I hate this cheap organization. I went to McDonalds a few weeks ago and asked for a cup of ice water and was changed 25 cents for a cup that was half the size as a normal cup.

McDonalds is a sorry organization in my opinion.

In the last two weeks, I've gotten five small cups for free.  No 0.25 charge, including three at once at one place.

Lucky you. McDonalds needs to loosen up a bit and run more promos and stop focusing on speed and pay close attention to accuracy and their customers. Over 25 cents, they lost a customer.

Don't forget that many McDonalds are franchised.  It is very possible that the McDonalds you went to and charged you 25 cents for a water wasn't even run by McDonalds corporation but by a private owner trying to squeeze some extra money out of customers.  You might not want to be so quick to judge.

Starbucks coffee is the same price as McDonald's coffee.

I was surprised too.

Is it common knowledge what type of coffee McDonalds uses for thier normal coffee?  I've looked on the internet and have found at least a dozen postings about how POSITIVE people are that its one type or another, but the types never match.  Please no guessing...I just want to know if it is advertised anywhere, not what you think you heard from your brothers best friends mother that it might be because she heard it from her neighbors dog groomer.

Thanks for the info!:)

Went for free coffee on Monday when they had sign still up. They told me that they won't give any samples anymore. What's up with the sign then? SCAM!!!!

Omare- did you go after 7am? Offer is only valid 7am-7pm.
I just tried the hot mocha and it was good. A little surprised that McDonalds gave it in a smaller cup. A little more hot water to make it a regular size wouldve been great considering the cost of water.

They aren't doing any of the free coffee mondays in my area but they're selling their 20oz regular coffee for $1. I saw a billboard and thought I might throw up if I drank the crap they serve in the office so I tried it out. As for regular coffee on the go this is some of the best for the dollar I've had. My local store is $2 for about half as much (but a tad better) and this stuff was almost as good as dunkin (not any that are close to my office). I can't stand starbucks regular coffee so that's an easy win for me here.

Tasted some of the free special New England Blend today.Same boiled dishwater from the old days in a fancier cup.   The iced coffee is OK/adequate,  but it's a burger joint....not a coffee brewery.
