Defying the economic doomsayers, the Mercedes-Benz FAshion Festival Brisbane has announced a move to a larger, new home at City Hall allowing up to 20,000 people to see a bigger and more exciting collection of designer labels take to the stage from Sunday 23 – Friday 28 August 2009.

The move establishes the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival as Queensland’s premier fashion event and audiences to this year’s six day event can expect to see the State’s best join with some of the countries top national and international designers, said Lindsay Bennett, Festival Director.

In 2008, the Festival generated retail sales in excess of $3.6 million and this year hopes to significantly exceed these figures.

As a consumer-driven event, where the buying public can see the latest Spring/Summer fashions on the runway and then go in-store to purchase them, the Festival has been a clear winner for retailers and designers alike, said Mr Bennett.

Principal sponsor Mercedes-Benz has supported the Festival since its inception and continues to lend its name to this prestigious event along with new venue sponsor Brisbane City Hall.

To be amongst the first to receive information and ticket offers log onto the Festival website and subscribe to the newsletter or find the festival on Facebook or Twitter.  Details are www.mbff.com.au

The line-up of designers will be announced on Thursday 28 May 2009 at which point tickets will go on sale through QTIX outlets or phone 136 246.  This year will be a first for the festival to undergo allocated seating, so it's first in best dressed!
