M_I_A_ U_K_ TOUR PART 1

Singer M.I.A. (Maya Arulpragasm) announced plans to launch a fashion line back in May of this year, and that caught plenty of attention.  Her style is bright, zany, and extremely graphic - not exactly appropriate for a widescale release, so it makes sense that she's opted to manufacture a limited edition line.  Plans to unveil the online store were just announced:

M.I.A.'s longish-rumored clothing line will be available via her Web site sometime within the next day or so as "a fashion week surprise." The collection is super-limited—only 1,000 pieces were made in total—and will likely be outfitted in colors that'll be ideal clothing for those nights when you find yourself running down a not-very-well-lit road with only the headlights of passing cars to illuminate you.

NY Fashion Week is on until September 12, so MIA's official launch announcement should definitely be out before then.  The Sri Lankan singer has been wearing her own clothing for some time now, so we can pretty accurately expect that her line will bear plenty of similarities to her personal style.

I like her, so I'm looking forward to seeing what her clothes look like.

This was probably the best moment of Austin City Limits 2007. MIA yelled at the crowd between songs to get on stage with her, and suddenly hundreds of fans were sprinting through the crowd and jumping on stage to sing and dance with her. It didn't last long because soon security kicked everyone off, but it just goes to show how fucking awesome MIA is and how much she appreciates her fans.
