Michelle Obama Style Guide Book: Due Spring 2009
Michelle Obama will become first lady on January 20th, 2009, and soon after she will also be the subject of a new fashion guide book:
Avon has signed former Made moiselle editor Mandi Norwood to pen a "Michelle Obama Style Guide," due out next spring. Avon vice president Carrie Feron said: "Not since Jackie O have we had a first lady become a fashion icon. Michelle Obama will be one of history's most vibrant first ladies; she has a distinctive style that every American woman can aspire to, whether the consumer is a Target shopper or some one more likely to be found on Miracle Mile."
It is doubtful that Michelle Obama will officially endorse the book as she has been reluctant to call herself a "fashion icon" in the past.

This picture is from Michelle Obama's visit to Madison, Wisconsin on Wisconsin's "Women in Government Day", September 22, 2008. As a volunteer for the Obama for Change campaign, I was lucky enough to be very close to the podium.

This Photo was taken at Michelle Obama's appearance in the historic 18th and Vine district in Kansas City, MO during the general election period in October, 2008. My son had the opportunity to shake Michelle Obama's hand, which for him, at the age of 7 was a rather prestigious and memorable moment. Photo Credit, Marvin Francois, Kansas City, MO

This picture was taken Wednesday, October 22nd in Gainesville, FL. About 11,000 people came to see Michelle Obama at a rally in downtown Gainesville, in front of the Hippodrome State Theater. It's the largest crowd she drew on her own during the campaign. I cast my ballot for Barack Obama that morning and stood in a packed crowd for 3 hours to hear her speak. Great speech, energized crowd and a great day. Snapped this picture (and many others) to capture the moment.
