Miss Cougar USA: Gloria Navarro Wins the Title at CougarCon

The National Single Cougar Convention took place this past weekend in Palo Alto, California at Dinah's Garden Hotel. Gloria Navarro, 42, won the title of Miss Cougar America at a competition hosted during the first annual CougarCon.

"It's a new beginning for me," said the suburban management consultant, married for 20 years, recently divorced and ready for something - or someone - new. "I went from soccer mom with short hair, flat-heeled shoes and fanny packs to cougar. I believe every woman has a cougar in them - someone who doesn't need a man for anything other than companionship."

Navarro had to win over the men in attendance at the Cougar Convention to snag her title of Miss Cougar America; the men submitted their votes for who was the most fierce of the cougar contestants. More than 200 guests were in attendance of the Cougar Convention's Miss Cougar Competition but most weren't their for the contest rather, the cougars were ready to pounce and the cubs were eager to experience experienced women.

Demi Moore, Kim Cattrall, Barbara Hershey, Cher, and Madonna are all expected to receive lifetime achievement awards for their cougardome courage at next year's convention (that was a joke but stranger things have happened).
