I got lucky and the Police holding back the crowd saw I was a serious Photographer by the two Canon cameras I had hanging off my neck. One had my 300mm zoom on it and I was carrying a large Canon bag (no I am not a commercial for canon). I looked serious and they let me through to photograph the Macy's parade right next to Macy's. As I was photographing the parade and large balloons I noticed the celebrities were getting off the floats right down the street where I was shooting so I ran over there and got many shots of many celebrities.
