The May 2009 edition of high-class fashion magazine Allure will feature a fashion free feature when naked photos of five stars including; Padma Lakshmi, Chelsea Handler and Eliza Dushku grace its glossy pages.  The naked issue, as it has been called, will hit stands April 21, 2009 and will feature interviews with the stars.

Padma Lakshmi is the host of Top Chef and ex-wife of controversial author Salman RushdieChelsea Handler hosts E! talk, and Elisha Dushku is the star of the sleeper sci-fi series Dollhouse (which may or may not be back next season).  The other two nude Allure models are Lynn Collins and Sharon Leal.

See a slide show presentation of the Allure nude photo spread, with excerpts from the magazine interviews.

The glossy Allure nude photo spread is being packaged as tastefully done in the fashion of art rather than sleaze, but the interviews with the women will raise some classy ladies eyebrows.  While Allure suggests that the naked issue is done to showcase raw beauty the answers given to some of the questions seem a little too Penthouse Pet.

Here's a teaser of what you can expect to read inside the naked issue of Allure:

here is some of what the women had to say:

Padma: "I tend to sleep in the nude... I'm a sensual-leaning woman. You have to use the word 'leaning' or it sounds like I'm boasting."

Chelsea, asked about her favorite body part, said: "My boobs are good. They're real and perky."

Eliza: "I'll strip down to my underwear and my Ugg boots when I eat lunch in my trailer."

These women represent the change in taste of Western men, the permission to explore a new aesthetic that always interested us, but which we couldn't bring home, let's say. I think this phenomenon of the exotic is being accentuated by having to compete so fiercely with Western women, both at work and outside of work.

I can't reveal details, but at one very highly regarded professional school the men have confided to my "observer" that they wouldn't ever date the women in the school with them. Too competitive.

Now, that may sound like resentment, but I don't compete with my wife much, and I didn't like competing with my male friends, either.
