National Bagel Day: Celebrate with a Bagel

February 9 is National Bagel Day. Celebrate accordingly. On National Bagel Day, go get a proper bagel from a local bagel scene- somewhere where they know what a bagel is all about. Nothing frozen or sold in stacks of six at the supermarket.

Bruegger's Bagels took a Facebook survey of its fans, and found out something that everyone on earth already knows: the Everything Bagel is the most-loved. This is obvious, because the Everything Bagel is the best bagel of all time. Of all time.

Your local bagel place (or bagel chain) may be running a special, so keep an eye out. Oh, and hats off to Las Vegas Weekly for their stellar headline: "Schmear Campaign".

The bagel, while shaped like a doughnut, has little in common with its sweeter cousin. The bagel is shaped, then boiled in water, and then baked. This gives the bagel its signature consistency. The downside? A very short shelf-life, and a rapid transition from snack to hockey puck. So eat it fast. 

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go get a bagel, like, right this second.
