NHL Player Sean Avery Starts Internship at Vogue Magazine
More than the sport that pays him $1.9 million a year, apparently.
Well, maybe he'll get a couple of nice murses out of this gig — which are simply the perfect gift for that profesional hockey playing metrosexual who has absolutely everything.
Sean Avery wasn't kidding. The colourful and sometimes controversial New York Rangers forward, who has expressed a desire to be a fashion magazine editor, has started his internship with the industry's most influential publication this week, according to a report.
Women's Wear Daily has reported that Avery, 28, started an internship with Vogue on Monday. According to the report, Avery was attending meetings and getting exposure to all aspects of the magazine.
The possibility of Avery interning with Vogue first surfaced several weeks ago. The magazine denied Avery, whose salary last season was $1.9 million US, was getting paid for his time.
"He is ridiculously obsessed with fashion," Avery's publicist, Nicole Chabot, told ABCNews.com in April. "He loves it more than anything in the world. It's something he has always wanted to do."
Avery, one of the few NHLers ever to have his own publicist, has previously called hockey players boring. He has been linked romantically with Elisha Cuthbert and other young actresses.

Weird, but good for him if he's following his dreams. Although his NHL paycheck will be very hard to leave I imagine.

Sure whatever. Not that there is anything wrong with that. I can already hear the taunting on the ice and in the locker room.
