Bryant Park has been the home of NYC Fashion Week for the past 15 years, but organizers are expected to announce that the twice-annual event will be moving to NY's Lincoln Center in 2010.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fashion Week can draw crowds of more than 100,000 store buyers, editors, models and designers, and organizers have been under increasing pressure to move after complaints from the park management that the shows had grown too large and were restricting public access to the park.

Once welcomed back in 1993, many disputes arose with the Bryant Park Corporation, coming to a head in 2006 when the company announced it would no longer allow the shows to happen in the park. At the request of designers and Anna Wintor, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg  and led to an arrangement for Fashion Week to remain there, at least temporarily.

Interesting!  I hadn't heard this rumour yet.  If this is the case, I'm certainly glad I'm attending NYFW next week while it's still at Bryant Park!
