Perfume pagoda welcomes the millionth visitor

The Huong pagoda (the Perfume pagoda) islocated in Huong Son district, of the northern province of Ha Tay,about 75 km southwest of Hanoi. It is a complex of pagodas, set amidstmountains, forests, lakes and caves and surrounded by vast green ricefields

The organizing board of the Perfume Pagoda Festival in Ha Tay Province registered the 1 millionth tourist of the 2008 festival on April 5. Mr. Lai Phuc Hien, a photographer from Hanoi was the lucky tourist.

This is the first time the number of tourists to Perfume Pagoda reached 1 million during the two month festival, said Mr. Nguyen Van Hau, Head of the Perfume Pagoda management board. Perfume Pagoda expects up to 1.4-1.5 million tourists by the time the festival concludes.
