NP Rank:
Pink trashbags to beautify your garbage
Artist and former model Adrian Kondratowicz has just unveiled his newest project, and he's dumping it all over the streets of Manhattan. His colourful (and biodegradeable) trashbags come in numerous colours, such as pink with white polka dots, blue with silver polka dots, glow in the dark, etc. He's asking residents and businesses to sponsor their block by buying his trashbags for $10 each ($20 if you opt for the limited edition pink with gold polka dot bags) and decorate their block with piles of colourful garbage in an effort to draw attention to people and their trashy habits.
Since June, Mr. Kondratowicz has been working on the project, “Trash — anycoloryoulike,” and getting some New York City residents on various blocks to forsake their boring black garbage bags, and instead create an urban art installation with his biodegradable beauties.“Because it’s a trash bag, it tackles the issue of consumption and waste,” Mr. Kondratowicz said. But the rainbow of designs was meant “to provoke in a positive manner, rather than critique or twist things around in an apocalyptic fashion.”
