Consumers may be buying "celebrity fashion" high price and no spice but Victoria Beckham's designer denim didn't make the cut for soccers.

(LONDON - April 25, 2008)  Victoria Beckaham has been spicing up the press with Spice Girl music and fashion but her pricey denim line has reportedly been demoted from fashion to trashion or, as Forbes reports, to less than posh surroundings.

Projecting her "classy" celebrity image as the calling card for becoming a top celebrity designer, the snooty world of fashion has boomeranged on Beckham with another verdict of "tacky."

Despite reports that Beckham used lower grade fabric to cut manufacturing cost, her jeans were selling for upward of $280 at trendy L.A. boutiques Kitson and Fred Segal.  At Loehmann's, they can be had for $69.99.

If the jeans can retain their top-celebrity branding to emulate status, then Victoria Beckham jeans will keep attracting attention, regardless of the quality of fabric denim or distribution outlets used.
