Finally, the time has come for the first family to get their Presidential Pooch.

According to TMZ.com, it will arrive on Tuesday.  It's a black six-month old male Portuguese Water Dog, and it has Kennedy connections.

The Texas kennel where it's being re-homed has sold the Kennedys three Portuguese Water Dogs, all from the same lineage as the new Obama dog.  This new pooch will therefore be presented to the Obamas by the Kennedys, although it'll really be coming from the kennel.

They'll be calling it BO, after Bo Diddley.

Hi, Blue Crush, I've just added two photos of Bo released from the White House.

Porties are the most friendly, family and faithful of dogs. They follow you around the house, sit on your feet, or your lap, and never stray far. These dogs love affection and people, walks and the water. The secret is now out.

I own a PWD and often have a friend's Portuguese Water Dog also. I feel like Ted Kennedy in the halls of the Capitol. Now everybody asks me if I have the "First Dog"
